Undyed cotton and silk thread
These are the same silk and cotton threads that I dye, and are presented here in small quantities for you to dye or paint yourself.
You can find tutorials for botanical and fibre-reactive dyeing online, and you can easily paint thread using fabric paints. My preferred choice for this is Jacquard Dye-na-Flow, which behaves much like dye and doesn't change the hand (the softness) of the thread.
Alternatively of course you can stitch with these threads as they are - white is always useful for highlighting and adding brightness to your work.
Some threads are 'natural' white, some are bleached bright white; the details and approximate yardages are below.
The silks are mulberry spun silk; cottons are mercerised where stated.
Silk boucle - glossy, textured loopy yarn, off-white, 8 yards
TS3 Silk 8/2nm, roughly equivalent to perle 3 - off-white, 10 yards
TS5 Silk 16/2 nm, roughly equivalent to perle 5 - off-white, 20 yards
TS8 Silk 20/2 nm, normally equivalent to perle 8 but this current batch is finer than usual and is more like a slightly thicker perle 12 - off-white, 25 yards
TS12 Silk 30/2 nm, roughly equivalent to perle 12 - off-white, 30 yards
Fine silk, 60/2 nm, roughly similar to one strand of DMC - off-white, 40 yards
Extra fine silk, 120/2 nm, half as fine as the fine silk - off-white, 80 yards
TC3 Mercerised cotton, 5/2, roughly equivalent to perle 3 - bright white, 10 yards
TC5 Mercerised cotton, 8/2, roughly equivalent to perle 5 - bright white, 20 yards
TC8 Fine cotton perle, similar to a fine perle 8 - off-white, 25 yards
FC Mercerised fine cotton, 16/2, roughly similar to one/two strands of DMC - antique white (not as white as the brights, but lighter than the silk), 30 yards
DMC 6-strand cotton floss - not as white as the brights, but lighter than the fine cotton
The size and shape of the skeins means that they count as a large letter for mailing purposes. This is too high for a single skein, but you can add any number of skeins of any type or colour to a collective purchase for no additional cost.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for non-UK customers - please read before ordering:
- Please ensure that you pick the correct country from the drop-down menu. Any orders where the address and country do not correspond (for example, a US address with UK as the country) will be cancelled and refunded. Choosing UK, when you don’t live in the UK, will cause the automated checkout to apply UK shipping rates. You must pay the correct shipping rate for your country.
- Your purchase may be subject to additional customs charges depending on your location. You can use online import tax calculators to estimate what the additional import charges will be before you buy. Please be aware that I have no control at all over how much you will be charged in import duties; it is your responsibility to find out before making a purchase.
- Your customs office may occasionally open and inspect your parcel before delivering it to you. Please understand that I have no control over this.
- When paying by card, please try and remember your purchase when your bank statement arrives. The amount will look different because of the currency conversion. If you initiate a dispute with your bank because you don’t recognise the amount, I have to prove to your bank that you did make the purchase, and I am charged a non-refundable fee even if the purchase was genuine. Please contact me before initiating a dispute if you are in any doubt about your purchase.
